Testimonials "My daughter Madison gained more than just the physical ability to do tumbling with Phil. He also taught her to work hard, have confidence in herself, and to focus. He is a Godly man that I trusted to teach my daughter. She had worked for two years with other coaches and learned more in one year with Phil." Thanks Phil!!! -Tamyra Mefford ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Phil does great coaching with patience ending in results. I like how he parallels his teaching to doing well in everything in life. He also has great support from his wife and daughter." -Karen Stevens ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tara & Phil, I would like to thank both of you so much for the confidence Meredith has found in cheerleading with both of you and thanks for encouraging Mackenzie to jump in and catch up. Both your positive attitudes towards all the girls, your patience & faith that they can achieve their goals along with the most important thing, THE RESPECT for the girls as well as their parents, have made me realize that there is an honest cheerleading program who's #1 goal is to make each girl the best that she can be both individually and as a "TEAM" and I've never heard you tell any girl she can't do anything she sets out to do. You are ALWAYS ENCOURAGING them. You always lift the girls "spirits" and also they always walk away feeling like they learned something new each practice. They really work hard but it's a lot of fun too! My girls are actually eating healthier thanks to the consistent reinforcement about diet also. It's nice to know that you really care about what they eat and how it effects their performance. It really does make a difference. They are actually eating more vegetables and good stuff and as a result, they perform better! Your experience in the field is definitely the best around and I don't think you can really teach the sport "PROPERLY" unless you have actually been a cheerleader yourself... One last thing! Your really impress me the way you both pray with the girls as a team after each practice! That's unique!!! P.S. Your little Eva is beautiful, the parents really enjoy watching her grow!!! Thanks for all you do!!! Cheer Universe is the best program around
-Cindi Hoffman ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Phil and Tara seem to have the best combination of everything it takes to pull off a well rounded cheerleader. By this, I mean that the girls are not "over practiced", but they work really hard when practicing. They teach them lessons in life, not just "cheerleading stunts". Phil and Tara pray with the girls every time they are together, teach them how important team work is and how important nutrition is in keeping their bodies healthy. My daughter has enjoyed the hard work and come to realize how important it is to stay committed. This is our first year with competition cheer and I must say that in the "dog eat dog" world of competition, Phil and Tara have made it a pleasant experience for our family. It is more than a "win at all cost" to them. They focus on safety, tumbling, nutrition, teamwork and self pride. Our girls work hard because they want to, not because parents want them to. They are learning and are having fun doing it. Thank you Phil and Tara!!! -Wendy Frazier ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hi Tara, Phil and Eva, Cheer Universe is great fun, great exercise, but it does not stop there; it teaches team spirit, how to work together, how to achieve more than your goals, how to excel. My children are being taught; not only gymnastics; but proper eating habits as well. Gone are the candy bars and sodas and replaced by salads and healthy snacks. Why? Because Phil pointed out that a candy bar or soda is only instant energy and will not strengthen muscles. To excel in gymnastics or cheer leading you have to look after the inside as well as the outside of your body. Thanks Phil and Tara. -Sheila Mottershead ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My daughter Meagan has been in the Cheer Universe program from the start. (2 years now) I feel very comfortable that Meagan is learning her tumbling correctly this means a lot to us because this is a very dangerous sport, especially if it is taught wrong. Meagan is very strong and with Phil and Tara's help has been able to really turn that strength into some amazing abilities. I have seen this with all the girls on the team, it amazes me what these children can do with such ease. What I love most about it all is to watch these girls and see how truly happy they are for each other when they accomplish something. Yes this is a competitive team but not against each other. They work as a team together. I see this team growing and really becoming something in the years to come with Phil and Tara leading the way. Keep up the great work!!
